Where We Stand on Speech-to-SOAP Note—and What Matters More

We make technology serve the clinician, not the other way around

At SOAPsync, we’ve always believed that technology should serve the clinician, not the other way around. Our mission is grounded in creating tools that save time, simplify workflows, and support the mental health professional’s ability to provide care—without added complexity or compromise.

🎙 Why Speech-to-SOAP Is Still in the Lab

One of our most ambitious innovations, the Speech-to-SOAP Note Module, has been in development for some time. We recognize the appeal: speak freely during a session, and get a fully structured, compliant SOAP note in return. But here’s the reality…

After extensive internal testing, the module consistently underperformed in psychiatric environments. Unlike other clinical settings, psychiatry sessions are nonlinear, emotionally dynamic, and often linguistically complex. A patient may ramble, shift topics, or communicate through subtle verbal cues—making it extremely difficult for generic transcription models to capture the context, clinical insights, and documentation nuances required for compliant psychiatric notes.

And frankly, we’re not willing to release something that works “most of the time.”
In our world, “almost accurate” is unacceptable.
Because when it comes to patient records, accuracy is everything.

🚧 What’s Next: Recorder AI

That said, we’re not abandoning this innovation. We’re evolving it.

Recorder AI is our next-gen solution branching from the original Speech-to-SOAP idea. It will allow clinicians to securely record session audio, store it in the cloud, and replay for documentation or patient review—offering flexibility without the high risk of error. Our development team is finalizing the architectural framework, with a targeted launch in Q4.

💡 We Build for Precision. We Build for Psychiatry.

Some companies chase features for marketing. We chase features that work—consistently, safely, and in context. Every SOAPsync module goes through real-world testing with psychiatric providers before we release it. And if it doesn’t meet our standard, it doesn’t ship.

So while Speech-to-SOAP isn’t live yet, we’re proud of what’s already delivering value today—and excited about what’s coming tomorrow.
